On February 4th 2011, Gary was invited to attend a gala dinner and award ceremony in the Great Hall where he was presented with a BUAFTA (Birmingham University Award For Tremendous Achievement) award. Also invited were the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and Secretary, Heads of Colleges, Heads of Operations and Senior Officers. His award is in recognition of Reflecting the University's Values.
